Staff Software Engineer – AI/ML Company: Addepar Location: Remote – United Kingdom Work Model: Fully Remote Job Type: Full-Time Category: Software Engineering / Artificial Intelligence Role Overview Addepar is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer with an AI/ML background to join its Reference Data team. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced AI-powered products and platform capabilities, transforming innovative AI solutions into reliable, scalable, production-ready systems. The role focuses on large language models (LLMs), agentic systems, AI platform architecture, and intelligent automation within the financial technology industry. Key Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of AI-native products, from prototypes to production systems. - Architect, build, and maintain core AI platform components, including LLMs, vector databases, prompt tuning, and agentic frameworks. - Develop advanced agent capabilities, including MCP, cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use. - Ensure AI products meet high standards for performance, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. - Improve AI solutions through performance monitoring, evaluation, and user feedback. - Research and adopt emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks. - Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to translate business goals into technical solutions. - Contribute to platform architecture and strategic technology decisions. - Provide technical leadership, share best practices, and guide engineering teams. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Extensive software engineering experience. - Proven experience designing, delivering, and maintaining complex production-grade systems. - Experience building and shipping AI-powered products or features, or significant practical AI project experience. - Strong understanding of AI/ML systems and modern software architecture. - Experience taking ownership of projects from concept through production. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. - Ability to work independently, move quickly, and continuously improve solutions. Preferred Qualifications - Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic AI systems. - Familiarity with Databricks, LangChain, MLflow, and modern AI/LLM technologies. - Advanced understanding of the probabilistic foundations of modern LLMs. - Experience developing AI products in accuracy-sensitive industries, particularly financial services.
