Role - Solution Architect Location - Remote, Madrid Type - Permanent Employment Job Description: Task/Requirements Senior CIB Enterprise Architect – Transformation We need someone like you to help us in different fronts: - Define decision-ready reference architectures for priority SCIB capabilities, including capability decomposition, target building blocks, architecture principles, data and integration patterns, and transition implications. - Challenge CIOs, domain technology heads and senior business stakeholders on current architectures, inherited constraints, local variations, platform strategies and investment assumptions, driving convergence towards evidence-based target decisions. - Map the current application and platform landscape against the target architecture, identifying duplication, fragmentation, obsolescence, dependencies, risk and consolidation opportunities. - Translate architecture decisions into application-level implications: adopt, consolidate, migrate, selectively invest, contain or retire, including dependencies and transition sequencing. - Assess market and vendor solutions where a real buy / build / reuse decision exists, covering market maturity, adoption in comparable CIB institutions, integration fit, lock-in and TCO. - Prepare and lead architecture decision forums and domain working groups, presenting options, trade-offs, recommendations, decisions required and open dependencies. - Address EUCs and AI-enabled local solutions within the target architecture, defining classification, minimum controls, ownership and transition paths. - Convert architecture decisions into fundable initiatives, with preliminary business cases, expected benefits, complexity, risks and input to the investment cycles. Mandatory skills: -8+ years of relevant experience in technology architecture or transformation, with relevant exposure to CIB or wholesale banking. (Experience in CIB/wholesale banking is mandatory; this includes at least three years of relevant experience in CIB or wholesale banking, within a minimum of eight years of total experience in technology architecture or transformation-related areas..) -Demonstrable experience defining reference architectures, target architectures or transition states in complex environments. -Experience in at least one of the following: application landscape rationalization, platform consolidation or technology modernization. -Ability to perform current-to-target assessments and understand the main implications across applications, data, integration, cloud, resilience and cybersecurity. -MINIMUM LEVEL OF ENGLISH B2 (DESIRABLE C1 LEVEL). A professional level of fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, as the successful candidate will need to prepare and present recommendations, lead meetings and work with global counterparts. Ability to engage with senior technology stakeholders, constructively challenge existing approaches and communicate recommendations clearly in English.
