Senior Security Engineer

Our client is looking for a hands-on Security Engineer to help ensure the stable operation of its security environment while contributing to ongoing improvements across identity, access, and infrastructure security. This opportunity combines operational responsibility with project work in a role where your expertise will directly support secure services and informed decision-making. Responsibilities - Analyze security needs and translate them into clear technical requirements. - Configure, support, and maintain security tools and related components. - Manage identity components, user accounts, and provisioning processes. - Set up and maintain access management solutions. - Monitor security systems and help improve observability. - Protect systems against unauthorized access. - Develop security procedures and contribute policy recommendations. - Provide technical security guidance, including expertise in OAuth and OpenID Connect. - Advise employees, managers, and leadership on security best practices. - Support awareness and training initiatives around security procedures. Technical Skills The ideal candidate brings strong practical knowledge of identity and security technologies, with a solid foundation in operational support and improvement initiatives. - Experience with SSDLC, RUP, and Agile approaches. - Strong understanding of authentication protocols and identity providers, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, OpenLDAP, and Active Directory. - Solid knowledge of identity and access management concepts and solutions. - Knowledge of application firewalls and web services. - Practical scripting experience in Linux and/or Windows environments. - Experience in network security is an asset. - Knowledge of web services in Auth0 is a plus. - Experience with SailPoint is considered a nice to have. Profile - Experienced in security engineering with a practical, solution-oriented mindset. - Comfortable administering, troubleshooting, and continuously improving security solutions. - A clear communicator who can provide sound technical advice to different audiences. - Proactive, with a strong focus on reliable operations, security risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. - Capable of maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant systems and methods. Practical Information - Languages: fluent Dutch or French, good command of the other language, and strong English.
