Principal Systems and Storage Engineer

As a Senior Principal Systems and Storage Engineer, you will be a senior individual contributor within our Infrastructure organization, helping ensure our cloud and data center environments are operationally sound, well architected, and cost ‑ efficient. Our team partners closely with engineering, platform, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable systems while continuously improving visibility, governance, and operational discipline. Picture Yourself At Pega I n this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and hands-on engineer for cloud and infrastructure operations. You will bring deep systems, storage, and architectural knowledge to support AWS usage, guide infrastructure decisions, and ensure costs are continuously reviewed and optimized. You will help shape how we operate and govern hybrid environments—balancing cloud and on ‑ prem infrastructure—and be responsible for hands-on cloud provisioning and automation. When needed, you will also provide direct operational coverage for physical data center issues to ensure continuity and rapid resolution. What You'll Do At Pega - Full enterprise systems lifecycle management implementation and enhancements - Implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective hybrid-cloud architectures. - Assist with cloud migration initiatives and develop strategies for moving applications and data to and from Amazon Web Services - Optimize existing cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. - Establish best practices, standards, and governance for Hybrid and Cloud usage across the organization. - Collaborate with development teams to implement cloud-native solutions - Improving existing technical solutions to help Pega automate technical and business processes to add business value Who You Are - A great collaborator and team player - Cloud Experienced : Proficiency in AWS and other cloud providers, with the ability to implement solutions leveraging the strengths of each cloud provider. - Infrastructure as Code : Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation. - Security and Compliance: Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) 45. - A person with in-depth understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows, applications and services) What You've Accomplished - Bachelor degree in related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience. - 5+ years’ experience in relevant disciplines at similar sized company. - 5+ years technical infrastructure knowledge in server operating systems and virtualization such as Linux, VMware ESX, Microsoft Windows, Dell hardware - Demonstrated hands-on experience in AWS deploying and managing services and resources - Hands on experience administering Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions such as Pure Storage, Rubrik and Cohesity. - Implemented technical solutions to improve, automate existing technical or business processes in a hybrid-cloud environment Additional preferred experience may include: - Experience with AWS cost management or financial governance tools - Experience with AWS Workspaces and/or Omnissa VDI - Experience with VMware and/or Nutanix Hypervisor - Experience with Storage and Backup Solutions like Pure, Cohesity and Rubrik - Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms and data center environments - ITIL or service management experience - Experience operating in large-scale or global infrastructure organizations Pega Offers You - Gartner Analyst acclaimed technology leadership across our categories of products - Continuous learning and development opportunities - An innovative, inclusive, agile, flexible, and fun work environment - Competitive global benefits program inclusive of pay + bonus incentive, employee equity in the company Additional Information Base salary range for this role is 205,700 - 313,400 PLN annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives. The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
