Description

Join the Redwire Space team in developing and fielding end-to-end innovative mission critical space system solutions for next generation space architecture. At Redwire, you will work closely with customers from concept development through mission operations to ensure mission success. Join our team of innovators and work alongside talented and curious people who are passionate about designing and delivering solutions that accelerate humanity's expansion into space. Redwire Poland is expanding its capability to lead and deliver complex space-system and space-hardware activities. Our work includes spacecraft equipment and subsystems, deployable solar arrays, advanced structural hardware, deployable systems, satellite structures, and spacecraft-level engineering for European and international programmes. With many exciting projects on the horizon, our team is eager for your passion, talent, and experience. Job description As a Systems Engineer for Redwire Poland, you will join our international engineering organisation and support the development, verification, and delivery of advanced space systems and hardware. You will connect customer needs, requirements, interfaces, specialist engineering, manufacturing, and verification. You will work with structural, thermal, mechanical, electrical, product assurance, manufacturing, and test teams to maintain a consistent technical baseline. The role covers the full development lifecycle, from early concepts and proposals to design reviews, integration, testing, and delivery. The role combines rigorous systems-engineering work with practical coordination of multidisciplinary engineering activities. Depending on the project, you may work at spacecraft, subsystem, equipment, mechanism, or structural-hardware level. We are looking for a practical mid-level engineer who can learn quickly, work independently, and take increasing technical ownership. This position is based in Warsaw under a hybrid work model. You will collaborate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners across Europe and the United States. Occasional international travel may be required. You will help Redwire Poland build a scalable systems-engineering capability for its current project portfolio and future product developments. Responsibilities - Analyse customer needs, mission objectives, Statements of Work, and applicable standards, and translate them into clear, traceable, and verifiable requirements. - Develop and maintain system or equipment architectures, functional breakdowns, product trees, operating concepts, budgets, interface definitions, and technical baselines appropriate to the project maturity. - Own or coordinate requirements management, including allocation, traceability, compliance assessment, assumptions, deviations, and verification status throughout the project lifecycle. - Coordinate technical work across engineering disciplines and suppliers. - Define verification logic and prepare verification plans, verification control documents, compliance matrices, test requirements, acceptance criteria, and verification evidence using analysis, inspection, review, and test. - Lead or support technical trade-offs, risk assessments, and interface resolution. - Prepare and review technical specifications, ICDs, engineering plans and reports, review data packs. - Support formal project reviews, including review planning, technical presentations, RID disposition, action closure, and configuration-baseline readiness. - Support manufacturing, supplier follow-up, integration, environmental testing, model correlation, non-conformance assessment, and verification closure for spaceflight hardware and test systems. - Contribute systems-engineering content to bids and early-phase studies, including scope definition, work-package descriptions, development logic, model philosophy, estimates, schedules, risks, and technical coordination with partners. Requirements Must-have - Degree in Aerospace / Mechanical / Electrical / Systems Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline. - 5+ years of engineering experience in spacecraft, aerospace, defence, robotics, scientific instruments, or another high-reliability multidisciplinary domain. - Practical experience with requirements engineering, system definition, interface management, verification planning, or technical coordination across more than one engineering discipline. - Understanding of the engineering lifecycle from requirements to integration and test. - Ability to structure technical problems and make sound engineering decisions. - Good understanding of configuration control, technical risk management, non-conformance handling, and formal design reviews. - Working knowledge of systems-engineering methods and applicable standards, with willingness to work in an ECSS-based environment. - Strong coordination skills and communication in English & Polish, with the ability to work effectively with specialist engineers, project managers, customers, suppliers, and international teams. - Hands-on, delivery-oriented approach and willingness to support practical engineering activities, including supplier follow-up, integration, and test campaigns. Good-to-have - Experience in spacecraft platform engineering, spacecraft equipment, mechanisms, deployable structures, solar arrays, power subsystems, structural hardware, ground support equipment. - Experience with ECSS engineering, verification, and project-management standards. - Experience with requirements-management or MBSE tools such as Jama or equivalent tools. - Experience as a technical lead, work-package manager, deputy project manager, or lead engineer on a multidisciplinary development. - Experience with system architecture, technical budgets, FMEA/FMECA, or risk assessment. - Experience with environmental testing, AIT/AIV, qualification, or acceptance. - Experience working with suppliers, research institutes, or manufacturing partners. - Experience supporting proposals or early-phase technology studies. Interested, but not sure you meet every single requirement? Research shows that men will apply to jobs when they meet only 60% of the requirements, but women and other minority groups may only apply if they're sure they meet 100%. If you were turning away because you don't meet 100%, well, we'd still like to hear from you - tell us how you're the best fit for the requirements you're sure you meet.
