Public Cloud - Enterprise Architect & Architecture Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer / Enterprise Architect with strong expertise in designing, building, migrating and managing enterprise-scale Apache Kafka and Confluent platforms on GCP/GKE. The candidate must have experience in production-grade Kafka architecture, Kubernetes, multi-region resilience, security, automation and SRE practices within regulated or mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities - Design, build and manage enterprise Kafka/Confluent platforms on GCP/GKE. - Implement Kafka clusters, CFK, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry and KRaft. - Design multi-zone/multi-region architecture, high availability and disaster recovery. - Implement Kafka security, multi-tenancy, IAM/RBAC, TLS/mTLS and Vault integration. - Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform, Helm and CI/CD. - Implement Conduktor Gateway or equivalent Kafka protocol gateway solutions. - Drive monitoring, observability, performance tuning and SRE practices. - Lead Kafka migrations, production support and major incident management. - Enable developer self-service through IDP/Backstage and Golden Paths.
