Description
WHO WE ARE?
Being the daughter company of Swisscom, we share our parent company’s values, vision and goals. Swisscom is Switzerland’s leading telecommunications and IT company and one of the most sustainable and innovative companies in the country.
We are a trustworthy and efficient IT service partner for Swisscom, creating valuable customer experiences in close collaboration with our partners in Switzerland. We want to attract and retain high performers who make a difference.
We are expanding our presence in Lisbon and are looking for a Telco Cloud Infrastructure System Engineer to help run the Kubernetes and OpenStack platform behind Swisscom’s telco services, including mobile, 5G and enterprise connectivity.
If you are driven, curious and want to grow with us, join us and help shape our future.
The team / project
You will join an international team of DevOps engineers based in Bern and Zurich, responsible for Swisscom’s Telco Cloud Infrastructure (TCI), built on Kubernetes and OpenStack. As part of the TCI Agile Release Train, the team provides the software infrastructure for the cloudification of Swisscom’s telco services, such as mobile voice and data, enterprise remote connectivity and 5G.
The team works in an agile setup with a strong focus on knowledge sharing and continuous learning of new technologies. You will work closely with your colleagues in Switzerland, on Swiss time (CET, 1 hour ahead of Lisbon). This is an internal Swisscom platform, not a consulting project.
What you'll do
- Cloud infrastructure: Deploy, configure and operate private cloud and container infrastructure on OpenStack and Kubernetes.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and fix issues across multiple layers, from the Linux OS to the switch fabric.
- Automation & operability: Automate and improve the operability of our services so they run reliably at scale.
- Monitoring: Maintain and improve our monitoring and alerting solution.
- Tooling: Build automation and tooling in Python and Ansible, delivered through GitLab CI.
- Operations: Take part in the 24/7 on-call rotation and handle operational incidents.
What we offer
- Hybrid and flexible working: 2 days in the office, flexible hours between 6:00 and 20:00
- 25 days of annual leave (3 more than the legal minimum)
- Meal allowance of €10.40 per day
- Multicare private health insurance, with the option to add dependents at an attractive cost
- Personal accident and business travel insurance
- Home-office allowance of €22 per month, plus a €300 home-office equipment budget every 5 years
- Communication allowance of €20 per month, plus an €800 mobile phone budget every 3 years
