Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to join KWAN and take on an exciting challenge with a large international organization that is scaling its AI agenda across multiple business areas. This is a Hybrid Challenge, with 2 office days per week in Lisboa, for residents in Portugal. 🛠 The Challenge: - Turn real business needs into production-ready AI solutions, from intelligent assistants and agents to automated workflows; - Integrate AI capabilities with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, APIs, enterprise systems and data platforms; - Build the components that make AI reliable in production, including retrieval, orchestration, tool use, evaluation, monitoring and guardrails; - Partner with data engineers and data scientists to connect models, prompts and data pipelines into end-to-end solutions; - Create reusable agentic workflows and templates that can be adopted by teams across the organization; - Help raise engineering standards and developer experience for AI software delivery. 🔎 What you bring to the table: - Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL; - Proven experience building GenAI applications, AI assistants, agents or AI-driven workflow automation; - Hands-on experience with Azure AI services and Azure AI Foundry, or similar AI platforms; - Solid understanding of RAG, prompt and context engineering, tool calling, evaluation and orchestration of AI systems in production; - Experience with APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines and enterprise integrations; - Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor; - Nice to have: Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain, MCP, Snowflake, vector databases or LLM gateways. 👉 Do you meet most of the position requirements?
