Senior Python Developer | Financial Services Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid) Employment Type: Permanent Experience: 5–10 years About the Role Elevate Partners is working with a leading financial services organisation in Dublin that is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join its growing technology team. This is an opportunity to work on the design, development and enhancement of business-critical applications and platforms within a fast-paced financial services environment. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, business stakeholders and wider technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable and high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable backend applications using Python. - Build and integrate APIs, microservices and data-driven applications. - Develop and optimise systems supporting financial transactions, data processing and business operations. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Improve application performance, reliability and scalability. - Work with relational databases and SQL to manage and process large datasets. - Contribute to system architecture, technical design and engineering best practices. - Participate in code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD processes. - Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to ongoing platform improvements. Requirements - 5–10 years of professional software development experience, with strong commercial Python expertise. - Experience building backend applications, APIs or distributed systems. - Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and clean coding practices. - Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django. - Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP. - Experience with Git, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines. - Understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs and modern software architecture. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team.
