You’ll join cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, designers and data specialists. Engineers here aren’t handed tickets. They own what they build from the first idea to production, and they have a real say in what gets built next. What you’ll work on - Building and scaling distributed backend systems that handle real-time data for millions of users - Designing, launching and learning from A/B experiments alongside product and data teams - Owning features end to end: shaping requirements with stakeholders, building, shipping and measuring the impact - Improving reliability, observability and code quality as the platform grows - Mentoring other engineers and helping hire the next wave of the team - Using AI tools in your day-to-day work, and helping shape how the team adopts them Tech stack: Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MySQL, GraphQL, OpenSearch, Kubernetes, AWS What you’ll bring - 6+ years of software engineering experience, with recent hands-on Java (Kotlin is great too) - Experience designing and running scalable, reliable services in production - A habit of connecting your work to measurable outcomes for customers and the business - Strong testing habits and a focus on maintainable code - Clear communication in English (no German needed) Nice to have - A/B testing and event-based analytics - E-commerce, consumer product or marketplace experience - Frontend exposure (Vue, React or TypeScript) - Start-up or scale-up experience What’s on offer - Base salary up to €120k+, plus virtual share options - Company pension, a €1,000 yearly learning budget and a mentorship programme - Hybrid working: three days a week in a central Berlin office, plus 30 days a year working from anywhere - Full relocation support, including visa sponsorship - A fast, structured interview process, usually about four to five weeks Interested?
