Software Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager | FinTech | Dublin (Hybrid) Cpl is partnering with a leading fintech organisation to find an engineering leader who will take ownership of a portfolio of business-critical, cloud-based applications. You’ll build and grow a high-performing software engineering team while working side by side with product and architecture leaders to shape what gets delivered and when. What you’ll do - Lead a team of software engineers building scalable, secure and resilient web applications - Own technical delivery across a portfolio of business-critical applications and services - Work with product owners, architects and senior stakeholders to turn strategy into prioritised roadmaps and delivery plans - Raise the bar on engineering standards across development, testing, deployment and operational excellence - Shape the design and delivery of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions - Coach, mentor and develop your engineers, supporting their growth, performance and engagement - Lead hiring and help build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture - Champion best practice across CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation - Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across multiple locations - Balance delivery speed, technical quality, risk and operational demands across several workstreams What you’ll bring - A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field - 7+ years in software engineering, ideally building secure, scalable and resilient web applications - 5+ years of direct people management leading engineering teams - A strong hands-on background across frontend and backend development - Experience delivering cloud-based applications and services in a modern engineering environment - A solid grasp of microservices architecture, cloud deployments and API-led systems - A track record of delivering mission-critical, highly available applications - Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation - Proven success hiring, developing and retaining engineering talent - Strong stakeholder management, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills - Nice to have: experience leading remote or distributed teams What’s on offer - Base salary of €85,000–€95,000 - Annual bonus of up to 20% - Comprehensive benefits package - Hybrid working, with flexibility currently available - A senior leadership role with real influence over technology strategy, engineering standards and team development
