Senior Data Engineer 📍 Galway, Ireland (4 Days Per Week Onsite) 💰 Up to €450 per day 📅 12-Month Contract Assignment We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a leading Asset Management technology team, helping to develop and enhance enterprise-scale data platforms that support over 200 applications and sit at the heart of critical investment systems. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full data lifecycle, delivering datasets, developing consumption interfaces, building resilient cloud-based services, and providing valuable insights for investment professionals. What You'll Be Doing - Developing and enhancing core data platform capabilities - Building scalable and reusable data services and components - Designing and provisioning high-quality datasets - Supporting data consumption through APIs and interfaces - Performing data analysis and optimisation activities - Contributing to cloud-based solutions and modern engineering practices - Working within Agile delivery teams to deliver complex technical features - Driving engineering excellence through code reviews, CI/CD, testing, and best practice adoption Key Experience Required - Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise - Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills - Experience with SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning - Exposure to Agile development methodologies - Solid understanding of logical data modelling and relational database design Desirable Skills - ETL and data movement experience, ideally with Informatica - Java and/or Python development experience - Spring Boot and ORM frameworks - AWS cloud services - Containerisation technologies - CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation - AWS Lambda development - Unix scripting and AutoSys - Data Warehousing experience - Snowflake - REST API design and microservices architecture - Source control tools such as Git - Experience working with globally distributed teams What We're Looking For - Ability to deliver complex technical solutions independently - Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills - Passion for building high-quality, maintainable software - Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving - Commitment to engineering best practices and continuous improvement Contract Details - Location: Galway, Ireland - Onsite Requirement: 4 days per week - Duration: 12 Months - Rate: Up to €450 per day 📩 Interested?
