The Team
The Business Services directorate brings together Central PMO and Transformation, Supply Chain, and Facilities and Property to support organisational performance, resilience and growth. Reporting to the Director of Business Services, the role is the strategic leader for EirGrid’s end-to-end, Group-wide supply chain. It will lead and continuously improve an integrated strategy encompassing demand and supply planning, strategic sourcing, procurement, contract and supplier management, resilience, technology enablement and commercial performance.
As part of the Business Services leadership team, the Head of Supply Chain will align supply chain capacity and capability with corporate priorities, investment plans and delivery requirements. The role will ensure timely access to the goods, works, services and market capability required to deliver EirGrid’s strategic priorities safely, sustainably, cost-effectively and at pace, while strengthening financial discipline, supplier relationships, governance, innovation and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an integrated Group supply chain strategy and multi-year procurement pipeline aligned with EirGrid’s corporate strategy, investment plans, market dynamics and long-term growth requirements

- Lead compliant, transparent and commercially robust sourcing and procurement for goods, works and services, including major procurements, approvals, evaluation, negotiation and audit trails
- Develop innovative sourcing and contracting approaches; negotiate effectively with suppliers and logistics partners; and strengthen competition, market capacity, quality and whole-life value
- Embed risk-based contract and supplier lifecycle management, with executive oversight of critical suppliers and active management of performance, obligations, change, claims, renewals, benefits and close-out
- Advise the Director of Business Services, Executive and senior leaders on commercial options, procurement strategy, supplier markets, contracting approaches, investment choices and supply chain risk
- Drive financial performance and supply chain resilience through disciplined cost, value and risk management
- Embed sustainability, social value, ethical sourcing, responsible business and trade-compliance principles in category strategies, procurement decisions and supplier performance
- Champion continuous improvement to simplify processes, eliminate inefficiency and improve consistency, control and service quality
- Evaluate and implement fit-for-purpose digital platforms, including ERP, sourcing, contract, supplier, inventory, logistics and planning tools, to improve automation, visibility, forecasting and data-driven decision-making
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Supply Chain team, build commercial capability across the Group and create clear development pathways that attract and retain talent
