Senior / Principal Software Engineer (m/f/d)

We are rapidly expanding into other markets globally. In addition to D&B, we develop and produce digital systems tailored for the Data Center industry and standardised self-contained units. We're looking for a Senior / Principal Software Engineer to join our Technology & Software Engineering team and take ownership of the architecture, development and technical direction of complex software solutions. What will you be doing? You'll combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, taking responsibility for designing and building scalable solutions while helping shape the engineering standards and technical direction of the team. Your Day-to-day Will Include - ⚙️ Designing, developing and maintaining enterprise applications that are scalable, secure and high-performing. - 🏗️ Leading technical architecture and system design decisions, defining engineering standards and best practices. - 💻 Staying hands-on with software development, code reviews, troubleshooting and performance optimisation. - 🔗 Designing and developing APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures and integrations with enterprise systems. - ☁️ Building and managing cloud-native solutions, containerised environments and distributed systems. - 🚀 Improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code and deployment strategies. - 🔍 Ensuring system reliability through monitoring, observability, security and incident management. - 🤖 Identifying opportunities to integrate AI, intelligent agents and automation into business applications. - 🤝 Mentoring engineers, supporting their technical development and helping raise overall engineering standards. - 📊 Working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, effective and production-ready solutions. What are we looking for? 🎓 Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. - Professional experience in software engineering and technical architecture: - Senior Level: Extensive experience developing and delivering complex software solutions, with proven technical ownership and mentoring capabilities. - Principal Level: Extensive experience leading software architecture, defining technical direction and driving engineering standards across complex systems. - Strong technical expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Node.js, TypeScript and REST APIs. - Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures. - Experience working with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, including data modelling and query optimisation. - Good knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and automated testing. - Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, with knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud considered an advantage. - Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. - Understanding of cloud security, networking, identity management, scalability and disaster recovery. - Experience with monitoring, logging, distributed tracing and observability tools. - Proven ability to make and defend technical and architectural decisions, troubleshoot complex issues and improve system performance, reliability and security. - Experience mentoring engineers, conducting architecture reviews and establishing engineering standards. Additional Experience That Would Be Valued - Experience integrating AI into applications, including LLMs, AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP). - Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API and enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO). - Background in data engineering, event streaming or enterprise data integration. - Experience modernising legacy applications and migrating them to cloud-native architectures. - Familiarity with FinOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and high-availability systems.
