Description
Product System Engineer | Hardware | Netherlands
Exclusively on behalf of our partner
About the company
Our client is a high-tech company developing complex hardware systems for high-reliability applications. They are looking for a Product System Engineer to strengthen their product development team.
The role
As Product System Engineer, you are responsible for the technical integrity of a complex hardware product. The product is moving from design into verification, so you’ll play a key role in making sure it meets its requirements.
You work closely with product management and the engineering teams, translate customer and user needs into clear system and subsystem requirements, and make sure those requirements are verified throughout the development lifecycle.
What you’ll do
- Translate customer and user requirements into traceable system and subsystem requirements
- Own and maintain requirements in the requirements management tool
- Define verification methods and break verification activities down for the engineering teams
- Track verification results, investigate deviations and failures, and support mitigations
- Support environmental qualification of the product
- Join customer meetings when technical depth is needed
What you bring
- A master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (a bachelor’s degree with extensive systems engineering experience is also welcome)
- A strong systems engineering background: V-model, requirements, system decomposition, verification and validation
- Experience with Polarion, DOORS or a comparable requirements management tool
- Experience with hardware products (not a software-only role)
- Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated hardware environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with demanding environmental qualification standards is a plus
- An analytical, precise and structured way of working, with a strong eye for documentation
- You enjoy working across disciplines
- Excellent English
- Eligible to obtain EU/NATO security clearance
What’s on offer
- A competitive salary
- A key role in a product moving into verification and qualification
- An international working environment
