Description
Who We Are
At Accenture Industry X we like to do it differently. We embrace change. We reimagine. We transform. How companies design, engineer, manufacture, service and maintain their products. We embed sustainability and bring digital into every part of the company’s enterprise. We create value by strategy and design, unraveling complexities with our approach as a powerful instrument of change. The way we do so is by designing and engineering products, platforms and services that build bridges between users, technology and business needs. Putting people and planet in the center of everything we do to add value to our clients’ businesses.
Role overview
We are seeking a Platform Engineers to design, code, and secure our high-performance, completely isolated (On-Premises Air-Gapped) computing infrastructure. This platform serves the largest manufacturer of lithography machines in the Netherlands supporting mission-critical software, data-heavy computations, and advanced automated system controls.
In an environment where internet connectivity is strictly prohibited to safeguard global trade secrets and national infrastructure security, you will write the core software that governs platform automation, identity management, supply chain validation, and secure software delivery. Your goal is to provide a seamless, cloud-like self-service Internal Developer Platform (IDP) for software application teams while guaranteeing zero risk of downtime or security breaches to physical factory floors and high-tech fabrication nodes.
If you’re passionate about software development, infrastructure, automation, and DevOps in a highly technical environment, this role offers a unique challenge!
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that abstracts complex raw datacenter into clean, self-service APIs for internal development teams;
- Customize and extend DevOps tools and IAM components to suit air-gapped infrastructure requirements (no external dependencies, limited internet access)
- Write production-ready, systems-level Go code to extend native Kubernetes capabilities and create custom Operators/Controllers that automate the lifecycle of local infrastructure resources
- Build and manage Kubernetes-based infrastructure in an on-prem / restricted production environment, including: Setting up Helm charts, ConfigMaps, Services, LoadBalancers, Ingress; Secure service-to-service communication; Database integrations (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Design and provision immutable local infrastructure (Bare Metal, hypervisors, and distributed storage systems like Ceph) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
- Integrate DevSecOps practices throughout the CI/CD process.
- Implement local IAM systems from scratch using OpenID Connect (OIDC), Keycloak, and strict Kubernetes RBAC models
- Manage local secret storage utilizing HashiCorp Vault in air-gapped mode
- Implement and code automated ingestion gates to validate Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) in CycloneDX/SPDX formats
Skills required:
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps/Platform engineering with software development background
- Experience using Golang to develop custom Kubernetes controllers and operators
- Kubernetes mainly in production environment
- IaC experience using Terraform
- Practical experience engineering physical infrastructure stacks (Bare Metal, networking protocols like BGP, local load-balancers, and CSI storage drivers) under extreme internet restrictions.
- Keycloak, LDAP, OAuth2, RBAC, and SSO integration
- Experience in CI/CD automation using Jenkins, Bitbucket, GCP or Azure
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and secure API design
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
