Principal OptoMechanical Engineer

I'm partnering with an innovative deep-tech business operating at the forefront of optical communications and photonics to find an experienced Principal Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to take technical ownership of complex, precision-engineered optical systems, leading designs from initial concept through detailed development, integration, testing and qualification. What we're looking for: - 12+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a strong background in opto-mechanical or precision mechanical design. - Advanced 3D CAD and FEA experience (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ANSYS or equivalent). - Expertise in precision optical assemblies, alignment, tolerance analysis and thermal stability. - Experience managing vibration, structural integrity and environmental challenges. - A background in space, aerospace, photonics or other high-reliability engineering environments. - Familiarity with ECSS, MIL-STD or equivalent engineering standards. - Strong technical leadership skills and experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
