Staff Software Engineer Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid) Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 We’re looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer with strong Golang skills, combined with hands-on experience of containerised platforms, Linux and automated CI/CD. You’ll take ownership of the core platform behind a fast-growing AI business, running across both edge devices and the cloud. The company This role sits within a VC-backed, fast-scaling AI company. It builds real-world AI products for enterprise customers around the world, turning data from devices deployed in the field into insights and alerts. They’re investing heavily in their next-generation platform and growing the core engineering team in Manchester. The role You’ll own and evolve the company’s core AI platform, the containerised backbone that every product runs on. You’ll be: - Building the tooling teams use to deploy and run AI solutions across a distributed, mixed edge and cloud estate - Shipping and monitoring containerised services that handle end-to-end data flow - Scaling the platform across a large, growing estate of deployments, with high standards for reliability and control - Working closely with QA to make sure changes are production-ready What you’ll bring - Strong commercial experience with Golang as your main language - Comfort with Linux, across both edge devices and cloud VMs - Solid Docker and container lifecycle experience - An automation-first approach, with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code as your default - The ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-specialists Nice to have - Experience across AWS, Azure or GCP - Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform) - Some Python Why join - Your work will run in production for global enterprise customers - Competitive package and a real focus on work-life balance - A collaborative, multicultural team where good ideas are acted on Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
