Actuarial Analyst

Actuarial Analyst Minimum Requirements: - Matric with Higher Grade Mathematics - Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics or Data Science, with an Honours degree being advantageous - 1 to 3 years work experience - Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook and SQL - Experience in Actuarial Modelling, Problem Solving or Data Analysis - Strong communication skills Responsibilities: - Develop actuarial or statistical models to aid in strategic business decision-making - Short- and long-term behavioural and financial projections (including pricing and testing of new initiatives) - Extracting and analysing large datasets to yield rich insights and communicating the results to a wide variety of stakeholders including the Company SA Executive Committee - Identify and understand key business and data trends, assess the impact and identify possible courses of action to mitigate / capitalize on these opportunities - Conduct ad-hoc investigations and analyses including quantifying the financial and business impact of strategic projects, oftentimes working with executive decision-makers to craft and execute key strategic projects - Compilation of reports and presentations for the Company Exco, Company Board, Actuarial Committee, Company Board and Group Exco - Develop and leverage key working relationships with various stakeholders across the business in order to support the aims of the organization - Mentor, support and train junior analysts Originally posted on Himalayas
