The role
Scitara is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect, Delivery to implement and validate the Scitara DLX platform for pharmaceutical and life sciences customers across Europe. The role will be based in Ireland and is primarily an onsite service delivery role, estimated at 75% of the work, with the remainder engaging in pre-sales solution consulting across the region. The balance will shift with customer demand, so candidates should be comfortable moving between the two. You will work as part of Scitara's global team of solutions architects and delivery specialists, with Europe as your primary focus.
Why Scitara
Scitara DLX connects laboratory instruments, applications, data, and people. We work at the forefront of lab connectivity and AI-driven automation in pharma and life sciences, alongside people who have spent their careers in laboratories and in the systems that serve them. The work contributes directly to how global organizations run R&D and QC.
What you will do
1 · Implementation and validation delivery
Deliver Scitara DLX implementations and validations for European pharma and life sciences customers, from discovery through configuration, testing, validation and handover. Ensure delivery meets GxP expectations including EU GMP Annex 11 and Annex 15, 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+ and GAMP 5. Work closely with Scitara's global delivery team, sharing patterns and standards across regions.
2 · Technical architecture and solution design
Design the technical architecture for instrument and system connectivity on your engagements, producing solutions that are scalable, compliant and supportable. Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements. Contribute to reusable integration patterns and drive configuration-led reuse across equivalent instruments, laboratories and sites rather than one-off builds.
3 · Customer engagement and consulting
Conduct discovery workshops, identify and quantify the business problem, and agree on success criteria with the customer. Give value-oriented technical recommendations and challenge unnecessary customization where a standard approach will serve better. Provide technical continuity from discovery through deployment and Hypercare, surfacing cross-team and cross-vendor dependencies before they block delivery.
4 · Pre-sales solution support
Support European sales engagements as part of the solutions architecture team: discovery calls, requirements capture, product demonstrations and technical responses to RFIs and RFPs. Deliver demonstrations of Scitara's integration, automation and AI agent capabilities, mapping each to a specific customer pain point rather than presenting features. Review Statements of Work and estimates so that what is committed is technically achievable. Provide field input back to Product Management and Engineering.
Collaboration and knowledge sharing
Contribute to technical documentation, internal playbooks, and customer-facing collateral. Share what you learn in the field with colleagues across regions and draw on their experience in return. As the European business grows and the team expands, there will be opportunity to take on a broader role in shaping regional presales and solution delivery.
This role is
- Hands-on delivery of DLX implementations, from discovery through validation
- Customer-facing and on site across Europe
- A collaborative role within a global team of solutions architects and delivery specialists
- A balance of technical depth and business alignment
This role is not
- A full-time pre-sales or demonstration role — you stay accountable through customer go live.
- A functional LIMS/ELN configuration or ticket-resolution role
- A CSV-only role, though you need a solid working command of CSV and CSA
- An order-taking role — you translate customer needs into sound technical requirements
- A people-management role today
What you bring
Must have
- 6+ years in pharmaceutical or life sciences laboratory informatics, with strong technical architecture skills — designing how instruments, LIMS, ELN, LES, CDS and enterprise systems connect
- Technical configuration of LIMS or ELN for instrument connectivity: interfaces, instrument data capture, parsing and mapping, and data flows between instruments and systems
- Enterprise integration: REST APIs, JSON and XML, file-based interfaces, data mapping, error handling and retry
- Customer-facing consultative experience: leading discovery, translating needs into technical requirements, and influencing stakeholders through evidence and clear storytelling
- Well versed in GxP, including EU GMP Annex 11 and Annex 15, 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+ and GAMP 5, with a working command of CSV (validation planning, risk-based testing, traceability)
- Strong pharma and life sciences domain knowledge, including QC and R&D laboratory processes and regulatory expectations
- Working knowledge of laboratory instruments and their software, such as Empower, Chromeleon, SoftMax Pro, Tecan Magellan, UNICORN/ÄKTA and LabX, along with controlled instruments such as pH meters and balances
- Experience working in or leading Agile delivery teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related field
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel to customer sites within Europe, becoming a trusted advisor
- Existing right to work in Ireland
Good to have — Technical
- Scripting in JavaScript and/or Python
- Data platforms (databases, data lakes) and cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS; certifications welcome
- Data standards such as ASM and AnIML
- Event-driven integration, monitoring tools, deployment frameworks or infrastructure automation
- Computer Software Assurance (CSA) alongside CSV
Good to have — AI
- Practical familiarity with generative AI and LLMs, agentic AI, prompt and context engineering, RAG and AI-assisted development
- Evidence of self-directed AI learning: courses, prototypes or automations you have built yourself
Good to have — Background
- A prior role as a bench scientist, applications scientist, laboratory informatics specialist or laboratory manager
- Experience across multiple systems, vendors, laboratories or sites
- Experience contributing to Proof-of-Value or pilot engagements
- Experience in an EU GMP-regulated manufacturing or QC environment
- A second European language
- Experience working with a CRM system such as Salesforce or HubSpot
How you work
- Ownership. You stay accountable for your delivery commitments and drive issues to closure.
- Customer-centric. Consultative by instinct; you find the real problem before proposing a solution.
- Constructive challenge. You push back professionally when the evidence or the customer's outcome requires it.
- Influence without authority. You mobilize teams and vendors across organizational boundaries.
- Clear communication. You explain complex technical concepts with conviction, in a laboratory, and also in an executive discussion.
- Commercial awareness. You understand how technical choices affect effort, risk, and total cost of ownership.
- Curiosity. You experiment with new technology, particularly AI, on your own initiative.
