Job Description: Veterans Service Representative Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote About the Role We are seeking experienced Veterans Service Representatives to contribute their specialized knowledge to an AI training and evaluation project. In this role, you will apply your expertise in veterans' disability compensation claims, benefit determinations, evidence evaluation, and VA procedures to review and assess AI-generated content. Your real-world experience will help improve how next-generation AI systems interpret claims, evaluate supporting documentation, and make decisions in accordance with established VA regulations and standards. Scope of Work - Review and evaluate AI-generated disability compensation claims, ensuring comprehensive evidence assessment and compliance with applicable VA regulations and guidelines. - Analyze AI-generated medical documentation and assess its relevance and impact on existing disability claims, considering complex medical and supporting evidence. - Prepare detailed benefit determinations and document decision rationales clearly and accurately for AI training purposes. - Conduct quality assurance reviews of AI-generated claims decisions, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and deviations from VA standards. - Use specialized claims management systems, such as the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS), to access, review, update, and manage claim files and supporting documentation. - Simulate higher-level review decisions and provide subject matter expertise on appeals and supplemental claims processes. - Provide constructive written and verbal feedback to improve AI model accuracy, consistency, and understanding of veterans' benefits procedures. Required Qualifications - Proven professional experience as a Veterans Service Representative or in an equivalent role involving veterans' benefits administration, evidence gathering, and benefit determinations. - Strong understanding of veterans' disability compensation programs, claims examination procedures, and applicable VA regulations. - Demonstrated experience evaluating disability compensation claims, reviewing medical evidence, and assessing claim eligibility or ratings in a regulated environment. - Experience using VBMS or similar claims management platforms to review and manage case files. - Background in quality assurance, claims review, or decision validation within federal, state, or related government agencies. - Ability to analyze complex information, evaluate supporting evidence, and communicate well-supported decisions for higher-level review processes. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with federal job functions and occupational series such as GS-0996 (Veterans Claims Examining), GS-0105 (Social Insurance Administration), or GS-0512 (Internal Revenue Agent). - Experience with higher-level reviews, appeals, supplemental claims, and related veterans' benefits adjudication processes. - Experience developing or reviewing training materials, procedural documentation, or quality assessment guidelines. - Prior experience with AI training, model evaluation, data annotation, or technical content validation projects.
