Founding AI Engineer (Renewable Energy)

About us ELANI One is the agentic operating system for renewable energy. We support developers, IPPs and utilities in developing more projects, faster and at lower costs. We are looking for a founding AI engineer to build this new category with us: AI agents that work alongside development teams on permits, grid processes and investment decisions. The role is full-time and hybrid: remote work combined with regular time together in person. What you'll do - Build our agentic platform end to end, from data model and APIs to agent workflows - Create an intuitive, user-friendly interface that all users enjoy working with - Design agents and agentic workflows that act reliably and increase the efficiency of project teams and management - Build in enterprise foundations from day one: multi-tenancy, access control, audit trails and GDPR - Turn customer needs into a working product, together with the founder - Shape our culture and help build our team What you bring - A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field - 5+ years of software engineering experience, including a B2B SaaS product you took to production with business customers - Strength across the stack: backend, modern frontend frameworks, databases, cloud and CI/CD - Hands-on experience bringing LLMs and AI agents into production - Security instincts: you think about tenants, permissions and audit trails - A pragmatic startup mindset: ship early, learn from customers and iterate - Fluent English; German and energy-sector experience are a plus What you can expect - A direct contribution to the energy transition: you build the digital backbone that lets developers bring more renewables online, faster - End-to-end ownership as one of our first engineers, with the freedom to shape the architecture and the full stack - Real users from day one: you build side by side with the development teams and executives who use the product - High pace and fast decisions, working directly with a founder who has spent 10+ years in MBB consulting for the energy industry - The highest professional standards and high expectations, in an international setting - High rewards: competitive pay, fast personal development and room to grow with the company How to apply Send your CV to careers@elani.one, including your earliest start date and salary expectations.
