About Sax AI Sax AI is building AI agents for compliance in investment banks in London. Sax AI delivers superhuman KYC (Know Your Customer) with AI agents executing and human KYC officers overseeing. We help banks outsource their KYC, 10x faster and 10x cheaper. The Role You'll be our first DevOps engineer and own our infrastructure end to end. Running AI inside banks is new ground, with no guide to follow, and we want curious people to work it out with us. - Take Sax from AWS-only to a resilient multi-cloud setup. - Make Sax deployable inside each client's own cloud, where we can't see production. - Make every release safe to ship and safe to undo, so a bank can depend on it. You'll set the standard, and you won't stay alone: we're growing the team next year, and you'll shape who joins. The Offer - €60k–€80k plus generous stock options. - Full-time employment contract, hiring in the UK and the EU. - Fully remote, UK/EU hours. - 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. - On-call shared across the whole engineering team. How We Work - A small team that works as one: responsibility is shared, and nobody faces a problem alone. - Fewer than 10 engineers, working alongside our own analysts, with a direct line to the founders. - We use coding agents every day, and engineers own the design and the decisions. - If you find a better way to use AI, it becomes how the team works, and we'll back you in sharing what we learn publicly. - Hiring in three steps: an intro call, a conversation about real problems we've already solved, and a meeting with the founders. No take-home. What You'll Do - Work with banks' security teams to get Sax approved and running in their cloud. - Own CI/CD, releases and observability, and design our on-call from scratch, shared across the team. - Harden security: network isolation, secrets, access control and audit. - You won't be the help desk: engineers own their deploys and fixes, and you build the paths they use. Tech Stack AWS (ECS on Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch), Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Sentry and OpenTelemetry. Azure is next, and you'll help decide how. You'll Fit If - You've owned production infrastructure in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering. - You know modern cloud strategies like multi-cloud, bring-your-own-cloud and on-prem, with Terraform and CI/CD, and want to learn what you haven't touched yet. - You're curious about AI and how to use it well. - Bonus: experience with banks or other regulated industries, or with LLM-backed systems in production.
