🚀 DevOps SME (Mainframe Modernisation) | IBM DBB, Git & IDz/IDD | Enterprise Mainframe Transformation 🌍 Remote | 📄 Permanent Contract | We are looking for an experienced DevOps SME (Mainframe Modernisation) to join an in-house technology consultancy of a global consulting firm on a high-stakes, Permanent contract. In this role, you will lead the strategic transformation of mission-critical mainframe environments, transitioning legacy SCM workflows into modern, Git-driven CI/CD engineering ecosystems. You will bridge low-level systems programming with customer-facing technical leadership, driving source-control migration, automated build architectures, and developer enablement across enterprise teams. What You’ll Be Doing: - Taking end-to-end technical ownership of modernizing DevOps practices and SCM tooling across enterprise z/OS mainframe platforms. - Architecting and executing migrations from legacy source code managers (Endevor, ChangeMan) onto Git. - Implementing, configuring, and optimizing automated build pipelines leveraging IBM Dependency Based Build (IBM DBB). - Integrating modern developer tooling based on IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz/IDD) into enterprise CI/CD workflows. - Running hands-on training sessions and troubleshooting complex code and environment conversion errors directly with client engineering teams. - Providing subject-matter guidance to bridge legacy operational models with modern agile engineering standards. What We’re Looking For: - 8+ years of deep technical experience as a Systems Programmer or in a similar mainframe infrastructure engineering capacity. - 4+ years of customer-facing consulting experience delivering complex technology transformations. - Demonstrated ability to lead technical workshops, upskill engineering squads, and resolve intricate conversion bottlenecks. - Consultant mindset: proactive problem solver, exceptional technical ownership, and clear communication when articulating architectural shifts to stakeholders. - Strong professional English proficiency for daily international collaboration. Must-Haves: - 8+ years as a Systems Programmer or similar mainframe role. - 4+ years of customer-facing consulting experience. - Hands-on expertise with IBM DBB (Dependency Based Build), Git, and IDz/IDD. - Proven experience with mainframe SCM modernisation and resolving conversion errors (e.g. Endevor/ChangeMan to Git). - Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification. Location & Working Setup: - 100% Remote working model (within Poland).
