Description
VP Cloud & Infrastructure
Location: Paris, France | Start Date: January 2027 or sooner
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a high-growth, international SaaS business backed by a leading global private equity investor to appoint a VP Cloud & Infrastructure.
The business serves approximately 4,000 customers across a diverse range of sectors, including the public sector, and has a workforce of around 1,000 employees. As part of its next phase of growth, the organisation is undertaking a significant technology transformation, with cloud adoption at the heart of its strategic agenda.
Currently, approximately 50% of the business operates on-premise, with an ambitious objective to move 90% of its infrastructure to the cloud over the next three years.
Having successfully migrated a number of small and mid-sized customers, the business is now entering the next phase of its cloud journey, with a particular focus on transitioning larger, more complex enterprise customers.
This is a pivotal leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to shape and drive a major transformation programme with significant strategic and commercial impact.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO or CTO, the VP Cloud & Infrastructure will take ownership of the overall cloud transformation strategy and lead the evolution of the organisation's infrastructure towards a scalable, modern, cloud-first environment.
This is a strategic transformation role rather than a traditional infrastructure operations position. While the business has established technical expertise to lead hands-on engineering and migration activities, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting the direction, defining the roadmap and ensuring the successful delivery of the wider transformation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Define and lead the overarching cloud and infrastructure strategy, aligned with the organisation's wider business objectives.
- Own the strategic roadmap to transition the business from an approximately 50% on-premise environment to 90% cloud adoption within three years.
- Drive the next phase of customer migrations, with a particular emphasis on larger, more complex enterprise environments.
- Evaluate and define the appropriate cloud provider strategy, including provider selection and the development of a scalable, sustainable cloud architecture.
- Lead the organisational and operational transformation required to support a cloud-first business model.
- Work closely with technology leadership and engineering teams to translate strategic objectives into executable transformation plans.
- Ensure the transformation delivers against key commercial, operational, scalability and customer objectives.
- Provide executive-level visibility of transformation progress, risks, investment requirements and delivery milestones.
- Build the capabilities, governance and operating model required to support the organisation's longer-term cloud ambitions.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced technology leader who has successfully delivered significant infrastructure and cloud transformations within a software or SaaS environment.
You will bring a combination of strategic vision, transformation leadership and the ability to translate complex technology programmes into tangible business outcomes.
You are likely to demonstrate:
- A proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale on-premise to cloud migrations.
- Experience working across multiple cloud providers and the ability to assess and define the right cloud strategy for a complex organisation.
- Strong experience within software, technology or SaaS businesses.
- Demonstrable transformation experience, having led significant strategic change rather than simply managing business-as-usual infrastructure operations.
- The ability to operate at executive level, influencing senior stakeholders and aligning technology strategy with commercial priorities.
- Experience managing complex migration programmes, ideally involving large enterprise customers.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the investment, operational and scalability considerations associated with cloud transformation.
Desirable experience:
- Experience with public cloud hosting environments.
- Previous experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth or scaling technology business.
- Experience leading transformation within a multi-customer SaaS environment.
The Package & Location
- Location: Paris, France.
- Compensation: Competitive, in line with senior executive market rates.
- Start date: January 2027 or sooner preferred
- Travel: Some travel required.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile, business-critical transformation programme, shaping the future infrastructure strategy of an established SaaS organisation and playing a central role in its next phase of growth.
