Senior HPC Engineer

As a Senior HPC Engineer, you'll help design, develop and maintain large scale computing environments, ensuring the infrastructure, storage and resources are ready to handle increasingly demanding workloads. You'll take ownership of the engineering behind complex Linux environments, working across compute clusters, high performance networking and large scale storage solutions. From managing software deployments and optimising workloads to improving configuration management, automation and monitoring, you'll help build and maintain reliable, efficient computing platforms. This is a hands on infrastructure role where getting into the detail matters. You'll work with technologies spanning cluster management, parallel filesystems, GPU computing and high performance networking, while continually evaluating new tools and approaches to improve the environment. There's also plenty of scope to develop and refine the processes behind the infrastructure, from deployment and revision control through to security, backup and disaster recovery. Just as importantly, you'll work closely with technical teams and end users, understanding their requirements, troubleshooting complex challenges and helping them get the most from the available infrastructure. Whether that's providing specialist technical guidance, improving documentation or helping deliver new computing capabilities, your work will have a tangible impact.
