Senior Information Technology Manager

Interim Senior IT Manager Reporting line: CEO 6-Month Initial Interim | Strong Potential for Extension or Permanent Conversion Hybrid / Dublin City Centre Senior opportunity with an established organisation seeking an experienced Senior IT Manager to take ownership of critical technology services across database operations, cloud management, data engineering and third-party delivery. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines technology oversight with people leadership, operational governance and commercial accountability. The successful candidate will lead a team of Data Engineers, oversee business-critical services and drive performance across internal teams and external technology providers. The initial engagement is six months, with the potential for a longer-term contract or permanent appointment. Key Responsibilities - Own the performance, security, resilience and availability of critical IT services. - Oversee enterprise database environments, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL. - Manage cloud operations, governance, security, capacity and cost optimisation. - Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers, ensuring effective delivery and operational performance. - Manage strategic technology suppliers, contracts, SLAs, escalations and commercial performance. - Lead major incident management, root-cause analysis and service improvement initiatives. - Report directly to the CEO on service performance, technology risks, costs and investment requirements. - Support budgeting, forecasting, supplier expenditure and technology planning. Experience Required - Proven experience in a Senior IT Management / IT Operations leadership role within a complex, business-critical environment. - Strong working knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments. - Experience managing cloud services, governance, security and operational resilience. - Demonstrable experience leading technical teams, ideally within data engineering or data platforms. - Extensive experience in third-party supplier management, contracts, SLAs and service delivery. - Strong commercial awareness, financial management and risk oversight capabilities. - Ability to engage directly with executive stakeholders and translate technical issues into business priorities. - A track record of taking ownership, improving operational performance and delivering immediate impact. Contract Details - 6-month initial contract. - Daily Rate: DOE - Strong potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position, subject to business requirements. - Direct reporting line to the CEO. - Leadership responsibility across database services, cloud management, data engineering and external technology providers. - Working arrangement and location to be confirmed.
