Senior Platform Engineer | Cloud & Platform Architecture

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join an established international technology consultancy, working across challenging client projects involving cloud platforms, Data and AI workloads. With over 20 years of experience in technology consulting, this organisation helps leading businesses navigate complex digital transformation challenges through innovative technology solutions. With more than 300 professionals across 12 teams, it combines deep engineering expertise with strategic thinking across Cloud, Data, Artificial Intelligence, Customer Experience and Workplace Transformation. The opportunity This isn't simply another DevOps or infrastructure operations position. You'll combine hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, helping design and deliver secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms across different client environments. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, work closely with engineering and data teams, and contribute to solutions supporting modern applications and emerging technologies. What you'll be doing - Design and implement secure, scalable and resilient cloud architectures. - Take ownership of platform architecture and infrastructure decisions across client projects. - Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation and infrastructure provisioning. - Design and manage containerised environments using Kubernetes and Docker. - Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions and reusable infrastructure modules. - Establish best practices around cloud security, monitoring, reliability and infrastructure management. - Collaborate with development, DevOps and data teams to deliver effective platform solutions. - Provide technical guidance and contribute to architectural discussions and engineering best practices. What we're looking for - Solid experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps or a similar infrastructure-focused role. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure. - Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments. - Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform. - Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar. - Good understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security and infrastructure automation. - Ability to take technical ownership, make architectural decisions and collaborate with clients and engineering teams. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a consultancy environment. Additional experience that would be valuable: - AWS or GCP cloud environments. - Data platforms, Databricks or MLOps infrastructure. - Cloud governance, observability and FinOps. - Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring other engineers.
