Description
We’re looking for an experienced, customer-focused Technical Presales Consultant to help customers transform how they work through Microsoft Modern Work, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, agentic AI and the wider Microsoft ecosystem. You’ll act as a trusted adviser, working with customers, Microsoft, account teams and delivery specialists to design solutions that solve real business challenges and accelerate adoption and value.
You’ll combine technical depth, consultative discovery and commercial awareness to turn customer priorities into credible Microsoft solutions, funded engagements and delivery roadmaps. The emphasis is on meaningful, measurable customer outcomes rather than technology for its own sake.
What you will do
- Act as a trusted technical adviser throughout the sales lifecycle, from early discovery and qualification through solution design and proposal to handover to delivery
- Lead customer workshops to uncover business objectives, technical requirements, risks, adoption barriers and desired outcomes
- Translate customer requirements into high-level architectures, roadmaps, statements of work, demonstrations and proof-of-value scenarios
- Present confidently to technical teams, business stakeholders and executives, adapting the detail and value narrative to suit
- Work with sales colleagues to qualify opportunities, shape value propositions and identify professional services, licensing and managed service opportunities
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, project managers and managed service teams so solutions are deliverable and supportable
- Support Microsoft co-sell activity and work effectively with Microsoft account teams and specialists
- Share structured customer insight with Product Management, Service Delivery and Microsoft Alliance teams to help shape our services and propositions
Modern Work and AI
- Provide deep subject-matter expertise across Microsoft Modern Work, Microsoft 365 and AI-enabled productivity
- Design and position Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and agentic AI solutions, including governance, security and adoption
- Help customers identify and prioritise high-value use cases, define success measures and build realistic adoption roadmaps
- Advise on tenant readiness, identity, information governance, data security, collaboration and endpoint management as foundations for responsible AI
- Demonstrate the art of the possible, while grounding recommendations in customer readiness, technical feasibility and measurable business value
Frontier Accelerate and funded engagements
- Lead or support Frontier Accelerate and Microsoft-funded Modern Work and AI engagements, from envisioning and readiness to proof of concept and adoption
- Scope engagements accurately, confirm prerequisites and define agreed outcomes
- Deliver executive-ready findings, prioritised recommendations and clear next steps
- Work with Microsoft and colleagues to turn findings into sustainable adoption, professional services and managed service outcomes
Key Experience
- Typically 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies in technical consulting, solution architecture, engineering or presales
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Viva, Copilot and Copilot Studio, with Intune, Entra ID, Purview and Defender as foundations for secure Modern Work and AI, plus Power Platform and Azure AI integration points
- Strong customer-facing experience delivering discovery sessions, workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations and solution recommendations
- Evidence of designing Microsoft solutions for mid-market or enterprise customers and connecting technical decisions to business outcomes
- Commercial awareness, including opportunity qualification, scoping, effort estimation, risk identification and contributing to proposals and statements of work
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management, facilitation and presentation skills
Microsoft certifications
We expect you to hold current Microsoft certifications and keep them up to date. That means:
- A Microsoft 365 certification at Associate or Expert level
- A credential covering Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio or AI workloads, and Applied Skills count here
Equivalent qualifications are fine too.
It’s a Bonus If You Have
- Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or a current equivalent
- Teams Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, Identity and Access Administrator or Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
- Azure AI Engineer Associate, Power Platform certifications or Microsoft Certified Trainer
How success will be measured
- Quality and business impact of customer discovery, solution recommendations and funded engagements
- Conversion of qualified opportunities into professional services, licensing adoption and managed service outcomes
- Customer satisfaction, adoption progress and achievement of agreed customer success measures
- Growth of the Modern Work, Copilot and agentic AI pipeline, and contribution to Microsoft partner priorities
- Customer insight that improves our services, plus reusable assets, demonstrations and standards that build the wider practice
What you will bring
- A customer-first mindset and a passion for solving real business problems
- The confidence to facilitate conversations with C-suite, business and technical stakeholders
- The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, challenge constructively and build credibility
- The judgement to balance customer ambition, security, governance, adoption, delivery feasibility and commercial value
- A collaborative, curious and outcome-led approach across sales, product, delivery, alliance and managed service teams
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for Microsoft innovation, partner programmes and continuous learning
- A clear focus on quality, integrity and successful customer outcomes
What we offer
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), increasing by one day for each full year with us, up to five additional days
- Holiday buy scheme
- All-company bonus scheme
- Company pension
- Death in service cover
- Employee assistance programme
