Description
About AINAD
AINAD is an AI venture studio: we design, build, fund and scale AI-enabled companies from validated problems, all under one roof. We pair founder talent with an in-residence executive bench, disciplined operating systems and capital deployed through our investment arm, AINAD Capital Partners - taking ventures from insight to institutional readiness in a market where AI has collapsed the cost of building and raised the premium on judgement, governance and speed to revenue.
We are currently building an AI-enabled venture focused on sexual and reproductive health -discovering and validating where AI can meaningfully improve prevention, access, care navigation, service efficiency and patient support across women's health, sexual health and HIV care pathways.
Role Overview
We are seeking two clinical co-founders to take this venture forward: one with an Obstetrics and Gynaecology background, and one with a Sexual Health and HIV background. This is a co-founder role, not a single senior hire: you will join the venture with genuine ownership of its direction and outcomes, working alongside AINAD's partners and cross-functional experts who will actively support your development. As our venture grows, AINAD will help you grow into the executive leadership (CXO) role best aligned with your strengths and the venture's needs.
The two clinical co-founders will work together to shape the venture's strategy and build the venture, with individual responsibilities agreed around each person's expertise and evolving leadership role. Broadly, one brings deep credibility in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and women's health pathways, the other brings deep credibility in Sexual Health and HIV services.
Key Responsibilities
Together, the co-founder team will shape the venture's strategy and build it, with individual responsibilities agreed around each person's expertise and evolving leadership role. Responsibilities common to the co-founder team include:
Shared founder responsibilities
· Own and continuously refine the venture's vision, mission and strategy in alignment with AINAD's venture-building thesis and portfolio goals.
· Translate high-level strategy into clear roadmaps, OKRs and execution plans across product, growth, operations and partnerships.
· Lead opportunity discovery and stakeholder validation with clinicians, service leads, commissioners, community partners, providers and end users to validate unmet needs, assess priorities and define high-potential use cases.
· Set up and refine lean operating processes across service operations, safety, compliance and operational reporting, with a disciplined execution cadence.
· Develop and manage the business model, including pricing, monetisation and a clear path to profitability.
· Attract, assess and hire the initial core team, and build a culture that combines startup urgency with accountability, transparency and data-driven decision-making.
· Translate clinical, operational and community insight into product concepts, venture hypotheses and commercially credible opportunities.
· Work with AINAD's product, engineering and design teams to shape and test MVPs and workflows that demonstrate real-world value and practical deployment potential.
· Assess clinical safety, privacy, governance, safeguarding and operational adoption requirements, ensuring responsible AI deployment and evidence-based practice.
· Support pilots, partnerships and strategic relationships, and contribute to go-to-market planning, value proposition development and evidence-generation strategy.
· Work with AINAD to prepare fundraising narratives, materials and data rooms, and contribute to board-level reporting and governance as the company matures.
Obstetrics and Gynaecology co-founder emphasis
· Lead discovery with obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwives, trainees, service managers and healthcare organisations to validate problems and define priorities across maternity and women's health services.
· Bring insight into issues such as obstetric risk management, documentation burden, service delivery and multidisciplinary coordination, and translate them into product requirements and workflow designs.
· Build trust and momentum with hospitals, clinics and women's health stakeholders to support pilots, partnerships and adoption.
· Lay the foundations for the venture's credibility in women's health, including thought leadership, stakeholder trust and category expertise.
Sexual Health and HIV co-founder emphasis
· Lead discovery across prevention, access, care navigation, service efficiency, documentation, triage, education and patient support in Sexual Health and HIV services.
· Bring insight into confidentiality, stigma sensitivity, safeguarding and equitable access — factors central to product success in stigma-sensitive healthcare environments — and translate them into product requirements and workflow designs.
· Build trust and momentum with clinicians, providers, commissioners and community stakeholders in sexual health and HIV to support pilots, partnerships and evidence generation.
· Lay the foundations for the venture's credibility in Sexual Health and HIV, including stakeholder engagement, specialty credibility and external relationships.
Who We Are Looking For
Profile 1: Obstetrics and Gynaecology clinical co-founder
Experience and qualifications:
· Medical degree with specialist expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology.
· Senior clinician or CMO-level leader with the strategic capability to support system-wide transformation.
· 10+ years of recent leadership experience in an NHS-based gynaecology department.
· Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams (clinicians, engineers, researchers, executives), and high credibility in executive, clinical and government settings.
· Demonstrated experience leading clinical programmes, governance activities or safety-critical initiatives within healthcare or digital health.
· Ideally, experience in women's health, maternity care, reproductive health, fertility or adjacent care pathways, and familiarity with regulated health products, clinical governance or privacy-sensitive AI systems.
Skills and capabilities:
· Proven ability to navigate complex NHS procurement pathways and multi-stakeholder healthcare environments.
· Strong product instincts and comfort working across technical, clinical and commercial domains, moving from problem identification to execution with speed and discipline.
· Proven ability to translate clinical or operational insights into commercial and strategic outcomes.
Profile 2: Sexual Health and HIV clinical co-founder
Experience and qualifications:
· Clinical experience in Sexual Health and HIV services, with deep credibility in Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV and strong knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
· Experience navigating complex healthcare, public-sector, community and procurement environments.
· A track record of engaging credibly with clinical, operational and community stakeholders — ideally including service leadership, commissioning or community-partner engagement in sexual health or HIV services.
· Ideally, exposure to regulated health products, clinical governance or privacy-sensitive AI systems, and experience with transformation or adoption challenges in frontline services.
Skills and capabilities:
· Strong product instincts and comfort working across technical, clinical and commercial domains, moving from problem identification to execution with speed and discipline.
· Ability to turn sensitive and complex frontline realities into practical solutions, balancing entrepreneurial pace with responsible AI deployment, governance discipline and trust-building.
· Excellent communication, influence and relationship-building skills across clinical, community and executive stakeholders.
Shared attributes (both profiles)
· Mission-driven and passionate about improving patient and clinic outcomes through technology and innovation, with commitment to clinically responsible AI deployment including governance, safety and evaluation frameworks.
· Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, biased toward action and able to balance vision with pragmatic execution.
· High ownership mentality, with a willingness to be accountable for outcomes rather than activities.
· Resilient and resourceful, able to navigate setbacks and learn quickly.
· Values-driven, prioritising integrity, patient trust and long-term value creation.
· Collaborative co-founder mentality: comfortable building a venture as part of a small complementary team rather than a solo act.
If you are an entrepreneurial builder who wants to co-found a HealthTech venture from the development stages, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV/LinkedIn, a short note on why you're excited about the venture, and which co-founder profile (Obstetrics and Gynaecology/Sexual Health and HIV) you are applying under.
