Preferred Qualifications - At least one year of direct experience advising borrowers on federal student loans in contexts such as nonprofit counseling, college/university financial aid offices, loan servicing, or default management. - Demonstrated expertise with federal loan repayment strategies, income-driven repayment (IDR) plans, forgiveness programs (such as PSLF), deferment, forbearance, and default resolution. - Practical knowledge of loan servicing operations, servicer-related challenges, and strategies for communicating with borrowers effectively. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical guidance clearly and efficiently. - Experience reviewing or developing guidance documents, rubrics, or training materials in the student loan field. - Comfort participating in a remote, asynchronous project and providing actionable, detailed input via digital platforms. - US residency and familiarity with current federal student loan regulations and practices.
