Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting financial decision-making. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial statements, reconciling accounts, and optimizing accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports. - Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. - Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. - Process journal entries and maintain the general ledger. - Assist with audits, tax filings, and other financial reviews. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. - Collaborate with other departments to support financial reporting and decision-making. - Preference for a full CPA, preferably with prior experience in bookkeeping for restaurants, or, if not, experience working for a large multinational accounting firm. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 2-5 years of experience in accounting or a related role. - Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. - Knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles. - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and organizational abilities. - CPA or working towards CPA certification. - Experience with ERP systems such as QuickBooks. - Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements. - Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
