Head of Engineering

And scalable. 🚀 Now, we're looking for a Head of Engineering based in Spain who wants to lead engineering teams, drive technical transformation, and help shape the future of our engineering organization. 🧡 As a Head of Engineering, you will: - Lead and support multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Act as a key point of contact for engineers, providing guidance, support, and direction to enable successful delivery and team effectiveness. - Create clarity around priorities, goals, and responsibilities, empowering teams to make decisions and execute independently. - Partner closely with Product Managers, Architects, and the CTO to balance product delivery with long-term technical evolution. - Drive cloud-native engineering practices across the organization, including AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, and modern development workflows. - Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and effectiveness. - Support teams through technical transformation initiatives, platform modernization efforts, and cloud-related projects. - Contribute to architecture discussions and strategic technology decisions together with engineering and architecture stakeholders. - Help establish scalable engineering processes, observability practices, incident management procedures, and operational excellence across teams. Your profile: - You have several years of experience leading software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. - You bring strong experience working in cloud-native environments, ideally with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automation practices. - You have led technical transformation initiatives such as cloud migrations, platform modernization, or large-scale engineering changes. - You are comfortable collaborating with engineers, architects, product teams, and senior stakeholders. - You have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and are excited about driving their adoption within engineering teams. - You combine technical understanding with strong leadership and organizational skills. - You communicate confidently in English and thrive in an international environment. It's a plus if you have: - Experience in product-led organizations. - Experience working with PHP/Laravel, Angular, MySQL, or similar environments. - Exposure to Rust or other modern programming languages. - Knowledge of security, compliance, and modern software engineering practices. - Experience scaling distributed engineering teams. 🌍 Why Sovendus?
