Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure ARM64) Location: Poland (Fully Remote) Contract: Initial contract until 31st March 2027, with potential for extension Rate: Up to 190 PLN per hour Start Date: ASAP in November 2026 The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the design and delivery of a strategic Azure ARM64 Standard Image Platform MVP for a large enterprise cloud environment. This role will be instrumental in establishing a centrally governed Azure image platform that accelerates ARM64 adoption, reduces duplicated engineering effort across teams, and ensures consistent security, compliance and operational standards across cloud workloads. Working closely with Cloud Platform, Security, Architecture and FinOps stakeholders, you will define and deliver the standards, governance and operating model for Azure-based ARM64 images that will underpin future cloud deployments across the organisation. This is a highly visible, Azure-focused platform engineering position suited to someone who combines strong hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership experience. What You'll Be Doing - Own the technical design and delivery of the Azure ARM64 Standard Image Platform MVP - Define the strategy and lifecycle for approved ARM64 platform images - Design and implement the Azure image publishing and management model - Establish governance standards for approved images and exception processes - Validate ARM64 compatibility across supported operating systems and pilot workloads - Define integration requirements for platform tooling, security agents and operational controls - Establish vulnerability management, patching and image update standards - Define image testing, release management and rollback procedures - Support pilot teams adopting the ARM64 standard image platform - Develop platform adoption, compliance and operational reporting metrics - Collaborate with Cloud Platform, Security, Architecture and FinOps teams to drive successful delivery and enterprise adoption Required Experience To be successful in this role, you should have: - 8+ years' experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or Cloud Architecture - Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure platform engineering expertise - Deep understanding of ARM64 and x86_64 architectures - Extensive experience managing virtual machine and base image lifecycles - Azure Compute Gallery experience - Azure Policy and cloud governance expertise - Strong Linux platform engineering experience - Ubuntu administration experience - AlmaLinux or equivalent RPM-based Linux distribution experience - Security baseline, platform hardening and infrastructure compliance expertise - Logging, monitoring and observability experience Desirable Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly beneficial: - Azure Landing Zones - Enterprise-scale Azure Policy implementations - ARM64 migration and workload validation programmes - Vulnerability management and infrastructure security tooling - FinOps and cloud cost optimisation - Internal developer platforms and platform product engineering - Large-scale cloud governance frameworks Key Technologies Microsoft Azure | ARM64 | Azure Compute Gallery | Azure Policy | Linux | Ubuntu | AlmaLinux | Cloud Governance | Platform Engineering | Security Compliance | Observability | FinOps | Azure Landing Zones Why Join? - Long-term contract through March 2027 - Fully remote working from anywhere in Poland - Opportunity to shape a strategic enterprise Azure platform from the ground up - Work on cutting-edge ARM64 cloud infrastructure initiatives - High-impact role with significant architectural influence - Collaborative environment with Cloud, Security and Platform leadership teams Apply Now If you're a senior Azure Platform Engineer, Cloud Architect or Infrastructure Engineering specialist with experience in cloud governance, Linux platforms and Azure image management, we'd like to hear from you.
