Senior DevOps Engineer – Azure | Kubernetes | Security | Utrecht [€85K] [PropTech / SaaS] A growing platform, a new Java stack from an acquisition to bring into Azure, and the freedom to set up security, backups and pipelines the way you think they should be. My client builds the leading property management platform in the Netherlands. Around 400 clients run on it every day, from housing corporations and municipalities to estate agents and private owners, for contracts, owners’ association admin and technical maintenance. The company has around 55 people. A recent acquisition brought in a Java platform that now has to be integrated with the core .NET and Angular platform. Engineering is 15 developers, growing to 18, and is being split into smaller teams with product and testers. What you’ll do You are the only DevOps engineer, so you own the platform and have a lot of freedom in how you shape it. You start with security. You tighten who has access to what, set up least privilege in Entra ID and introduce a four eyes principle on changes. Then you make the platform hold up: a backup and recovery setup that scales, observability across Azure and Kubernetes, and a clear view on what everything costs. You move the CI/CD pipelines from GitHub into Azure and introduce infrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep. Step by step you take over what an external party manages today, so the company runs its own platform. The other big job is migrating the Java stack from the recent acquisition onto that same Azure setup. Next to that you look after internal IT: Mac and Windows laptops through Intune, onboarding and offboarding, and tools like Miro. Office hours only, no on call. You report to the Head of Development. Your profile - 5+ years of experience as a DevOps, Cloud or Platform Engineer, ideally with a system administration background - Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure and Kubernetes in production - Security in practice: Entra ID, least privilege, access reviews - Experience taking over or restructuring an existing infrastructure - CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep - Experience with Intune for macOS and Windows - Based in the Netherlands What’s in it for you Up to €85K gross per year, including holiday pay. Two days a week at the office in Utrecht, you pick which, with flexible hours and public transport reimbursed. A learning budget of 5 percent of your annual salary.
