External Audit Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an External Audit Consultant based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced External Audit Consultant to support financial IT audits, technology compliance, and information security initiatives within a Federal Government environment. In this role, you will help assess internal controls, strengthen financial system security, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and organizational standards. You will work closely with technology leaders and compliance teams to evaluate control effectiveness, identify vulnerabilities, and develop practical risk mitigation strategies. Your responsibilities will include supporting annual financial statement audits, SOX reviews, and other internal compliance assessments. You will also contribute to improving governance, risk, and compliance processes through documentation, control testing, and automation initiatives. This fully remote opportunity offers the flexibility to work from home, with the option to periodically work on-site in Washington, DC.
