Senior Java Developer – Multithreading

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in multithreading and concurrent programming to join one of our clients in the Capital Markets sector. The role focuses on developing and enhancing applications supporting FX electronic trading, with demanding performance and reliability requirements. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop and maintain Java backend services supporting FX trading and pricing workflows. - Implement and optimise multithreaded and asynchronous processing for real-time applications. - Investigate and resolve concurrency, performance and stability issues. - Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions. - Work closely with front-office stakeholders and technology teams to deliver business requirements. - Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD practices. Required Skills & Experience : - Strong experience in Java backend development within complex, high-performance environments. - In-depth understanding of multithreading and concurrency, including synchronisation, thread pools, concurrent collections and locking mechanisms. - Solid knowledge of the JVM, memory management and performance profiling. - Experience with API development, messaging systems and SQL databases. - Familiarity with automated testing, Git and CI/CD tools. - Experience in Capital Markets, ideally within a front-office development team, with knowledge of FX products and electronic trading workflows. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
