Description

Description About WTW WTW is an award-winning advisory, broking, and solutions company that supports clients worldwide in transforming risk into opportunities for growth. With a rich insurance heritage dating back to 1828, from the Titanic in 1912 to the Moon Buggy in 1971, WTW brings deep industry expertise and longstanding experience. This role can be based in Lisbon or Manila. Our WTW Regional Delivery Center, in the heart of Lisbon, brings together a strong global team of more than 450 colleagues who deliver operational excellence every day through innovation and streamlined, efficient solutions. In Manila, you will join our delivery team there and work as one team with colleagues in Lisbon and across our markets. About The Role We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to design, build and deliver AI solutions that solve real business problems and work reliably at scale. You will take solutions from idea and prototype through evaluation, production and adoption. You will work hands-on in code, alongside low-code and automation tools where they are the right fit, and make pragmatic engineering decisions on performance, reliability, cost and user experience. You will work closely with business users, Business Analysts and the Tech Lead, and help less experienced engineers grow. What You Will Do - Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand where AI can deliver measurable value, and translate requirements into practical technical solutions; - Design, build and deliver AI applications and agents using LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, MCP and agentic patterns on Microsoft Foundry and Azure; - Design and build reusable agent skills and maintain shared assets across solutions; - Combine code-first development with low-code automation (Power Platform, Copilot Studio) as appropriate; - Rapidly prototype and validate ideas, using evidence and evaluation to decide whether and how solutions progress; - Data & Fabric focus: build and maintain the Fabric lakehouses, pipelines, semantic models, Fabric IQ and data agents that feed our AI solutions; - Define and apply evaluation approaches for AI quality, reliability, safety and business effectiveness; - Make solutions production-ready, with monitoring, observability, resilience, scalability and cost control; - Use AI-assisted development tools while critically reviewing and testing both human-written and AI-generated code; - Build in line with agreed architecture, engineering, security, Responsible AI and governance standards; - Diagnose complex implementation and integration issues and drive them through to resolution; - Contribute reusable components and patterns and support less experienced engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing. Qualifications What we are looking for - Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience; - 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, low-code automation or AI solution development; - Python skills; JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET or other relevant languages are a plus; - Practical experience building Generative AI and LLM-based applications (e.g. RAG, agents, tool/function calling, structured outputs); - Proven experience taking software or AI solutions from prototype through testing and into production; - Experience with APIs, databases, integrations and modern application development; - Experience with cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure strongly preferred; - For the Data & Fabric focus seats: hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse or Databricks, and data modeling; - Experience with Agile, DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices; - Understanding of Responsible AI, data privacy and AI governance requirements; - Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgement; - Confidence working directly with business users and explaining technical choices to non-technical stakeholders; - Fluency in English, both written and spoken (mandatory). What Will Make You Stand Out - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Foundry and Azure OpenAI; - Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Fabric IQ (e.g. lakehouses, semantic models, data agents); - Experience creating Agent Skills (SKILL.md) in Claude, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, GitHub Copilot or similar tools; - A background in low-code automation (Power Platform, Copilot Studio) and a move into AI development; - Knowledge of pensions or financial services.
