Senior Cloud Architect

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field. - At least 7 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture. - Strong experience in cloud solution design and architecture, with a specialisation in Microsoft Azure. - Advanced knowledge of enterprise cloud architecture, covering IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. - Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient and governed cloud platforms. - Knowledge of Cloud Networking, Identity Management, Cloud Security, Observability, High Availability and Disaster Recovery. - Ability to analyse, review and validate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, preferably using Terraform. - Experience or knowledge of automation and familiarity with GitHub repositories. - Knowledge of CI/CD practices and workflows. - Knowledge of Cloud-Native architectures, including Containers, Kubernetes, APIs, Data Platforms and modern Integration Patterns. - Strong understanding of Cybersecurity principles and their application to enterprise cloud architectures. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and methodologies, as well as AI-related cloud services. - Knowledge of other cloud platforms, particularly GCP and/or AWS (a plus). - Azure certifications, particularly Azure Solutions Architect Expert (a plus). - Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken. Responsibilities - Design, define and drive enterprise cloud solution architectures, ensuring alignment with the technology strategy and business objectives. - Define Microsoft Azure architectures, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, efficient and properly governed. - Design and validate architectures covering infrastructure, networking, identity, security, observability, high availability and disaster recovery. - Analyse, review and challenge Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations, particularly Terraform, as well as automation solutions. - Review GitHub repositories and assess CI/CD workflows, ensuring appropriate development and deployment practices. - Evaluate and guide the adoption of Cloud-Native architectures, Containers, Kubernetes, APIs, Data Platforms and modern integration patterns. - Ensure the application of Cybersecurity principles and security best practices across cloud architectures. - Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, Security and Infrastructure teams to define and implement architectural solutions. - Assess different technological alternatives, pragmatically identifying benefits, risks, constraints and trade-offs. - Influence, guide and align technical teams, even without direct hierarchical authority. - Present, justify and defend architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Balance long-term architectural vision with practical delivery requirements and implementation constraints. - Manage multiple architecture initiatives simultaneously, ensuring organisation, autonomy and rigour throughout their execution.
