Junior GL Accountant (English& Polish langauge)- maternity cover

ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Junior Accountant to cover a colleague's maternity leave. You'll keep day-to-day accounting and month-end close running smoothly while they're away. You'll work under supervision and learn how a growing international group runs its books. You'll join a supportive GL team and get hands-on experience from day one. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Handle payables: post operating expense and fixed asset invoices. - Manage non-trade invoices: issue and book intercompany charges and employee recharges. - Process expenses: reconcile and post travel expenses and company card settlements, following internal policies. - Support the close: help with daily record-to-report work and month-end closing. - Post journals: prepare recurring entries such as accruals, prepayments and reclassifications. - Reconcile: perform basic balance sheet reconciliations and support variance analysis. - Keep records clean: maintain complete, organised accounting documentation and audit trails. - Support reporting: help prepare internal and external financial and statistical reports. - Answer queries: handle accounting correspondence through shared inboxes. - Follow the rules: comply with accounting standards, internal policies and confidentiality requirements, and support team projects and ad-hoc tasks. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU - Minimum 2 years' experience with a focus on accounting and tax from a global organisation. - You work with discipline and structure, and you care about accuracy and compliance in everything you post. - You have a sharp eye for detail while keeping the bigger picture of transactions and reporting in view. - You learn fast and can get up to speed quickly, which matters in a cover role. - You adapt easily to new processes, systems and regulations. - You communicate clearly and work well with colleagues, suppliers and approvers. - You manage your time well, stay organised and meet deadlines, especially around month-end.
