Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer (SRE / Observability) | Global Investment Firm Working with a leading Investment/Hedge Fund organisation who are investing heavily in its Platform team, and they are hiring a Senior Engineer to own Observability end to end. This is NOT a people-management role. It's a senior/lead individual contributor position for someone who still wants to be deep in the code and the systems. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴: 🔸Owning the monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting platforms every engineer across the firm relies on 🔸Covering the full pipeline: collection, ingestion, storage, querying, dashboards and alerting 🔸Building automated, self-service observability that's reliable, secure and scalable across multiple regions 🔸Shaping both the architecture and the user experience of the platform 🔸Cutting alert noise and making it easy for teams to get real value from their telemetry 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿: 🔸Background in SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineering, now operating at senior/lead level 🔸Strong software development skills: Python, plus Go or Rust 🔸Hands-on experience with tools like Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Vector, the Elastic stack and AlertManager 🔸Observability at scale for highly distributed applications on Kubernetes 🔸Strong Linux, Bash and containerisation troubleshooting skills 🔸Nice to have: Kubernetes Operators, Terraform/Ansible, ClickHouse The Opportunity Join a technically advanced engineering environment where you will have the autonomy to develop scalable infrastructure solutions, work with modern open-source technologies and contribute directly to the reliability of critical systems.
